Tower Hobbies KAOS into Quicky 500 style plane
I and a few other buds of mine have purchased the Tower hobbies KAOS..
we fly them all together have alot of fun... I decided I was going to try to
make this kaos as fast or faster than a quicky 500 pylon racer... but other
than just looking at pics and trying to dig up old threads about those planes
I sure would like to get as much speed as I could out of it .... and learn more
about how to do it... Sure I thought about a tuned pipe... but we have
already agreed NO TUNED PIPES... but other than that I guess I have
already set the bar.. I have installed a NEW OS-55-AX with out installing
a DUB muffler.. ( which I plan on doing ) I have modified the Stock ( old )
style muffler by taking out the baffles... I was told that style muffler is better
for power than the original bulky style. I put the KAOS on a diet already
I ended up taking of the canopy,,, I turned it into a tail dragger,,,with super
light plastic wheels. I am also using a 10x8 apc prop which I had an
aluminum spinner 2 and a quarter,,,, which will be replaced with a much smaller
style like the ones Dub offers. MY plane is fast right now... the others cant keep
up with me its been alot of fun,... so I figure why not take it too another level...
so I have takin the motor back off and reclocked it so that the muffler will be under
the plane just like the Quicky 500 ones.I took off the nose cowling like the quicky,s
I had even thought about installing smaller servos or smaller plus relocating
I really dont need a full size servo for the rudder.. or throttle... any other ideas guys.
