Hi,
I know some people use KST MS325 servos (it is 12 mm in width) for elevators in F3A planes as well as aileron servos in biplanes that use 4 aileron servos wings.
I had planned to use it in one of my F3A planes because it was little too tailheavy with the two Futaba BLS173SV servos, but I selected to move the rudder servo (Futaba BLS171SV) from tail to front instead.
MS= Magnetic Sensor (no potentiometer), that should be low mechanical wear and low temperature sensitivity. MS325 servo cost about $45, Futaba BLS173SV is about $135, so You get 3 MS325 for the cost of 1 BLS173SV. The later servos is very good (I have used them for many years, also the forerunner BLS153). I can not tell how reliable etc the MS325 servo is. For aileron servo on monoplanes and for rudder servo the KST MS589 will work (I have some of these servos also but have not tried them yet in any F3A plane). They cost about $64 or so.

/Bo
