My oldest just turned 12 and enjoys RC cars, he has a few of the cheaper entry entry entry level ones(read $40 amazon cars). I have a rustler, from when I was a kid(1999), that’s missing a body, controller, battery, body clips, stub axel pin, that hasn’t been ran in at least 15 years(so not worth getting back together). I enjoyed that car a lot and would like to get him something along those same lines.

I’m looking for something easier to drive than a top heavy truck, no need for great speed yet, lower end on pricing in case his interest dies down, and because we are in Canada, something that will do well in snow. I don’t have any particular brand loyalty and parts availability at a local hobby store is a non issue for me, since I’m in the middle of nowhere and I’ll end up buying any replacement parts online.

What has caught my eye so far is another rustler, a stampede, granite, things in that general style. 1:10 or so, wide wheel base. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
