Jet A is a higher refined version of kerosene. It has additives to make it more stable(does not freeze as easy) and to help control the formation of bacteria in tanks(prist). As far as being regulated its not. It commonly gets confused with Av Gas that can not be sold to be used on the road because it is not road taxed.
