RE: sig rascal ARF electric building tips??
To answer this fellow's original question, I built 2 of them. One for my photographer and one for a Product Test in R/C REPORT Magazine (yet to be published)
They weighed within 1 ounce of each other minus batteries. Easily assembled, but use adhesives sparingly.
I have used several different battery and prop combinations and the best so far is a 1050 MAH Lithium Polymer 2S battery from Thunder Power. Match this with a 9-6 SLOW FLY APC prop and your 22 ounce Rascal will fly for 15 minutes or more, depending on power settings and wind. Don't forget a LiPo charger.
I also used a 1100 mah NiMH 7 cell pack with good results, but weight was almost double what the LiPo was and duration was a bit less. Still this was quite acceptable and inexpensive. ($18.00 for NiMH vs. $50.00 for LiPo)
Bottom line: Nice flying plane, even my 83 year old photographer/friend can do quite well with it.
Good luck with your Rascal and Happy Holidays!
