Default RE: thunder tiger ek4-s2 running in

Running your engine with only 2.5 turns out on the high side WILL FRY YOUR ENGINE...LITERALLY!!! Ringed engines are made to run rich and run better when they do, not to mention, they also last longer. Unless you really enjoy hearing that engine SCREAM and can afford piston rings at $15 EACH, I'd set the carb by this break-in:

During break-in, turn the
high speed needle 4-4.5 turns out from closed.
mid...flush
low....1 7/8- 2 turns

After you break the engine in, which will require at least a gallon, you can then set the HSN to 3.5-4 turns out from closed. As for the glow plug that came with your engine, I'd throw it out and use an OS or a McCoy. The stock plug will cause you nothing but grief. Also, make sure the fuel you use has 20% oil content. Nitro content isn't as important the oil content, tho, most go with 20-30% nitro.

I had, (past tense), an EK, one of the first ones and got run over. I have since rebuilt it...MY WAY! [link=http://www.radiocontrolzone.com/forums/showthread.php?s=&threadid=138666&perpage=25&pagenumber=2]PIE WAGON.[/link]
