Awesome: I sent you a PM. Please contact me directly at [email protected] regarding fuel injection for small engines.

Gunny11 , I have already developed 2 distinct EFI systems for model use. One uses pulse width modulated needles for fuel control on Walbro series carburettors and the other uses pulse width modulated injectors and a 7 bar electric fuel pump. Both systems work flawlessly. Throttle position , RPM , crankshaft position ,manifold air pressure , exhaust gas temperature , barometric pressure and fuel pressure are some of the sensed inputs. I did this as an experiment in my spare time about a year ago. I also posted on RCU to see if there was any interest in EFI for model use. The consensus of opinion was that it would be a waste of time because no one would be prepared to pay for such a device. As such i canned any plans for a commercial device. I have the goods but i doubt anyone has the bucks! [&o] I am going to fit this system to a giant scale biplane i am building (when i decide on an engine) If you can hang out for a bit ,as i'm a notoriously slow builder , i'll post some pics of the system with some before and after EFI test data. I personally think there would be a market for such a system , but unless someone wants to bankroll a commercial item i will just keep this for my own personal use.I have worked in the engine management / software development business since 1989 and have specialised in Delco /Delphi ECU's . We have custom software which has taken years to develop for use in highly modified street driven vehicles and as such i'm no novice in this area , but i have to tell you that most peoples understanding of these systems is based upon fiction rather than fact. We see this every day from so called technical experts in the field , who have no idea as to how the software or CPU works telling us and others how it "really" works , i always get a giggle when someone makes it up as they go along! Anyhow , this thread seems rather familiar to me , so don't be too upset with any negative attitudes to new technology , just enjoy the banter.[8D] Leon
