Probably not necessary. I didn't on mine. Just be sure that there is no binding with the hinges that you do use to restrict the throw. I leave a little gape between trailing edge and control surface to avoid any binding and then seal the gape with strips of Monokote. Monokote seems to work a little better than Ultrakote because it is more pliable while under high heat and sticks better.
