Default Eastbourne Monoplane Finished

My 43-yr old son built this Eastbourne Monoplane based on the Hobby Lobby/Dare/Pat Tritle Kit as his first stick model. I had to sit there and watch him go through the entire process giving him advice and ideas and encouragement . Reminded us of the Orange County Choppers TV series. Just finished today and not flown yet due to gusty conditions. The instructions and plans and materials were very complete and well done. We used the recommended Graupner S400 in Mini-Olympus 2.3:1 gearbox and 8-cell KAN 1050 battery pack. Covering is Litespan antique ,
wood parts were finished in orange/yellow shellac. The wings are removable via small washers that hook rigging thread to the king and queen-posts.Has to fit in a Miata. Rigging is attached to wings with eyelets made by twisting 22 guage magnet wire around a piece of tubing and wrapping on both sides of wing. The Eastbourne logo was made by downloading out a freeware custom font, printing out on regular paper, cutting out with scissors and attaching with shellac then overcoating with shellac making paper almost translucent. The Williams Bros pilot is glued to a balsa box that fits over the end of the battery pack. Looks like he's wearing a backpack. Prop is modified Graupner Slim-prop painted with dry brush to mimic wood. Will add flight shots,( hopefully)
