I was just rummaging through a box of parts and 'discovered'
three OS .46VFs, plus tuned pipes and headers! I'd completely forgotten that I had these!
Two of the engines are in good shape. One is crashed, for parts use only. I had the broken one on a Sonic 500 ARF pylon plane a few years back. It was way too much plane for my skill level at the time. 9x8 prop and a whole heap of RPMs. It was scary fast. I ended up planting the thing deep into a neighboring golf course after I was unable to pull it out of a WOT speed dive
I'd like to put together something similar to the departed Sonic (speedwise) but I haven't found anything in the way of ARF pylon planes. I need to stick with something that has landing gear - The field I fly from is quite rough. This eliminates Dusts, Whiplashes, Magnums, etc. etc.
So how about it speedfreaks? Are any of the major manufacturers still selling a .40-sized ARF pylon plane?
