Default Need advice to finish detail on Lanier CAP 232 tail goup

I need some suggestions to finish the join where the fin base meets the fuselage on the CAP 232.
I made one modification to this airplane which consisted on moving the hinge line 1/4 inch forward to increase the size of the elevator surface (to enhance the 3D performance). This left a 1/4 inch gap between the tip of the fin and the AFT edge of the horizontal stabilizer (see photos). By the way, the kit instructions for this airplane do not call for any specific trim or balsa refill to smooth the lines of this join. Seems to be a little bit ugly (or maybe that's the way it is). Since I have not seen CAP 232 in my flying filed, I have not reference from other flayers.
Please advice.
