RE: Piston liner stuck
I just had the same experience pulling the sleeve on an engine, and as others have suggested, heat is your friend.
Also, if it's really being stubborn, after tapping it out a bit with a wood or nylon punch from the inside, if you can get the liner's lip started up from the top of the cylinder, you can "carefully", use 2 small screwdrivers on opposite ends to gently pry it up. This really helped me. The main thing to remember is to not gouge grooves in anything by being too aggressive, and remember not to use any metal punches to tap the liner out.
