Default RE: Futaba receiver model numbers?

Well first, I am not an expert.
I can tell you what I know.
R is for receiver.
12?, 13?, 14? are model package types. The electronics inside may be different as well
??7, ??8, ??9 is the number of channels
D as I understand is for dual conversion.
P for PCM and F for PPM

R149DP is a reciever, package type 14, 9 channel, dual conversion, PCM modulation.

Need help understanding the numbering system for Futaba receivers... I understand that the last number represents the channels, and that D indicates Dual Conversion, but am confused about the 12X, 13X, 14X designations.. e.g.; what is the difference between R128, R138 and R148 8 channel receivers? Are there any other significant model number issues?

TIA!!

Jim
