RE: E-Sky "Honey Bee" from Hobby Lobby
So far I've only flied no more than 10 charges (original 600mAh NiMh battery) on this heli and my first ever experience in a heli (except for some 4 hours or so flying the simulator). I'm now able to [link=http://www3.telus.net/terence_chu/coolstuff/indoor_flight.wmv]hover the thing indoor over the footprint of my bed[/link]. The video was shot when the tail motor was just about to go south. I had my hands full keeping the tail from wagging by the intermittent tail motor. I think running these little motors originally designed for 3-4 cells onto a heli running 7+ cells is looking for problems. This was already my second tail motor, in less than 10 charges. I'm looking to convert to direct drive tail motor. Anybody knows if they're any more durable? If I run 6-cell Li-Po battery, will the lower voltage make the tail motor more durable?
