Default RE: Old Cox/Sanwa radio safety??

If it is on the 27 mHz band it is still legal. This band was not affected by the 1991 narrow banding. Many vintage radios on this band are being used legally by vintage enthusiasts. The practicality of using this band for aircraft in todays RF environment is a different matter and not recommended. However if it is on the 72 mHz band it is most certainly a wideband unit and yes illegal. If this is the case then it is time to park it. If a 72 mHz unit it could even be on non existant channels that are now in industrial use.
