Thanks fellas, I really appreciate the help. I have decided on the E-Maxx for a couple reasons:

1.) Hop-up parts availabilty. It looks like every part on this truck can be upgraded (if needed).

2.) Parts availability (both stock and hop-up) at my LHS. If my wife breaks something I can have it going again that day or the next day.

3.) Competitive price. I can get the RTR package and at least 4 good battery packs for under $400.

4.) My wife digs it! For her, looks are more important than performance!
