Default RE: How do the "Speed Freaks" balance there props?

I have an old high point balancer, and the dubro-sorta-clone of it. Served me well for years.

At one time I had the magnetic balancer. A few folks pointed out, that on smaller props, it was possible for the shaft to take on a magnetic field, and the shaft would line up with the end support magnet fields.... sometimes keeping the prop from appearing balanced. I was able to witness this. (dont ask me to explain it more... please )

So I tend to use the high-point device or my dubro for balancing. A little sand paper on the front of the blade, and its ready to go.

Fortunately most of the APC props have been pretty well balanced right out of the package. But its not worth cheating with an engine turning over 16K rpm. [&:]
