shrike 10
i decided to build my shrike 10 with 1/4" carbon fiber rod spars. $6 each at the hobby store. im going to run a os 25fx with a tuned pipe. this is my third shrike and i plan on reinforcing the plane to handle the higher loads. the 1/4" rods fit nicely into the 1/4" square slots. i also used 1/4" round dowel for the leading edge. i glued the ends of the forward spar to the leading edge dowel to give some strength to the last two out board ribs that only have the aft spar. so the leading edge now is also a spar for r4 & r5. i did this to prevent tip twist at higher speeds. i plan on sheeting the entire wing. thanks for all the great ideas on making the shrike stronger.
