Default RE: Home-Made Transmitter Stand

I use the stand in the pits to keep my delicate transmitter out of the mud, wet grass and dirt. It also supports it safely so that it doesn't get trampled while I am starting the engine. Without the stand the transmitter might fall forward and break off a switch (it has happened) or worse, throw the throttle up while I am starting the plane. Without a stand I must leave it lying on the ground or try to perch it atop my toolbox which is precarious. After adjusting the engine I then pick up the transmitter and head to the flight line. In very hot weather I do not leave the transmitter on the stand in the sun but set it inside the back of my station wagon.
