sounds cool. I used a paintable stuff sold by bob violet thats called heat shield, works well on wood for hot pipes,on my .91 shrike the pipe is half in and half out the fuse top I coated a 1/64 ply with heat shield to cover tank,battery,servo's ect, to keep things from melting and it worked great. Where the top fuse deck meet the pipe itself i split fuel line as an insulator and that worked great too and made a clean installation line between the pipe and fuse..
