RE: I flew my P-40 !!!
Mine is balanced slightly ahead of the cg with the wheels down, empty tank. I figure once you fill the tank, you are more nose heavy. Assuming you will land with some fuel left and wheels down, you are still nose heavy. I havent flown it in this configuration yet. I did fly it when it was balanced wheels up and it sort of porposed on final; 15 degrees flaps, dead engine during half of the final approach. But it didn't snap and thats a problem i'd been having on dead engine landings.
What's your thoughts?
