Hmmm. I have the same setup.
On mine i have to remove the needle valve, Cyl head. I had to shorten the exaust stacks also. It is a real clean looking install but a real pain to take apart if i ever need to get in there. A split cowl would work but i think it would be an even bigger pain then just dealing with it the way it is. FWIW
