Default RE: Hitec servos

I flew the 645 mg's in a Giant Stinger and G62 combo for 3 years. I logged 117 hrs and 60 gallons through it by the time I sold it. Never had a servo failure, but by the time I sold it, the metal gears had quite a bit of slop around center. This is to be expected though with that much time on metal gears. Since then I've put together a Wild Hare 28% Edge. I started out with new 645mg's on it also, but have since switched over to the 5945's. The 645's just didn't center well enough on the elevators on this plane. It kept hunting the elevator trim. The Giant Stinger wasn't a high performace plane, so I guess the centering issue wasn't noticed. The 645's worked fine for the ailerons and rudder on the Edge though. If you do go with the 645's, be sure to run 6 volts. I didn't in the GS, but did on the Edge. Big difference in speed on the 6 volts. The 645 is a rather slow servo to begin with and the 6 volts really speeds them up.
