The skids on the wingtips are from Great Planes - part # GMPQ4445.
Yes, the OS .32's needle was a problem.... only solution I could come up with was the upright mount - doesn't seem to hurt the performance.
As for how long to build.... couple of weeks or so of building a few hours evenings and weekends. Not particularly hard to build, but you do have to "fill in the blanks" quite a bit between the plans and the written instruction manual. Like Rocketman said - check out his build-along post, pretty much shows the whole process.
