Default RE: How do I reverse the motor direction?

ORIGINAL: gsarg29

I have an F-27 Stryker (a 480 pusher motor) and a P-51D (a 480 puller motor) and i'm trying to transfer the hardware from the P-51D to the Stryker because of a bad crash. Anyhow, everything works fine, however, the motor spins the wrong way. I need to convert it to a pusher, rather than a puller. Can anyone explain how to do this?
With a brushed motor, just reverse the leads on the motor - solder the negative wire to the positive terminal. Be advised that this is going to play havoc with the brushes in the motor since they are worn in with the motor rotating in a counter clockwise direction.

My suggestion is to spend some money and get a new 480 motor, wire it for reverse rotation and do a water breakin.

If by some chance this is a brushless motor, just reverse any 2 leads.
