Yeah a TC3 makes a great drifter (what I use) but even more popular are the Tamiya's (TT-01, TL-01) because of their cost. You can cut a lot of corners when getting a drifting car. They don't require much in the performance and handling department. ABS pipe makes great tires (do a search, tons of info on it) and you'll need a motor with good torque. Stock motors are popular. After that it's all about practice.
