coreman, if longer struts are the reason you're going to fixed gear, you can make the retract struts longer by moving the retracts out by 1 bay. I have done this on all 4 of my US-40s with very good success.

No, going fixed gear was because the struts deformed too quickly to reliably use the retracts due to a rough grass field. The longer struts are so I can go to the OS .91FX on the second fuselage. bigger wheels allow me to handle the "potholes" in the field better. All in all the retracts were a nice idea but I fly on fields that beat them up too quickly and I fear killing my battery if one or both hang up in flight. The .91 will also give me a bit more speed. plus the new wing allows me to put in barn door flaps to also play with and dual aileron servos to reflex them as well. This plane WILL slow down 8^)
