A 2'x6' hollow core door makes an excellent building board. They are very flat building surfaces and they are usually pretty cheap. Ask them if they have one that is damaged. Usually the damage is on one side and you can use the other side. They will usually sell the damaged door very cheap (I picked one up for $5).
