Lipo size and weight compare
I have a couple 3 cell 2300, 11.1, thunder power for years i have been using. I also have some 3 cell 1350, 11.1 TP`s .
I recently ordered some Zippy batteries of the same rating but they are 2200,30c and 1300,20c Zippy flightmax. Why are they so much bigger and heavier? On one plane i have to cut out some of the battery compartment for them to fit.Are they just as powerful? The TP`s have been good, and are still good after 100`s of cycles. I just wanted to try these for the price.But i have one Zippy lightmax a friend sold me,it is a 2200 and it is thinner and lighter. Wow, so confusing!!

Since they are a higher "C" rating they must supply more POWER (current and voltage) thus thicker or longer or wider batteries.

It's probably the "C" rating. I'd guess your older batteries have a lower "C" rating.
The three things that determines the physical size of a Li-Po:
1) # of cells (detemines voltage and size)
2) mAH capacity (higher rating is larger and heavier)
3) "C" rating (higher is larger and heavier)
It's similar to a car battery, either higher capacity (mAH for us, AH for car) and/or higher starting amps ("C" rating for us) makes the battery larger and heavier.
