Just use the specs to get a rough idea: but if you don't tell us exactly which Extra 300 you have, we can't be more specific. [I've found reference to 40", 48", 65", 76"....]

Diameter: 42m (1.65in)

Length: 40mm (1.57in)

Weight: 149g (5.3oz)

Shaft Diameter: 5mm

KV(RPM/V): 890

Max Watt: 448

No load current: 1.2

Max Current: 55A

No. Of cells: 3-5S Li-Poly

Props: 11x8 to 14x7

This would indicate perhaps 14x7 on 3s, 11x8 on 5s... a 60A+ ESC... at 3W/g 149g is ~450W... so that is 40A on 3s (much less on 5s).... so you'd want battery packs which are capable of delivering 50A-60A.

One way I easily find out an estimate of power needed is looking up simialar models. Mainly what size brushless is needed and battery. From there reccomended esc and battery c rate/ mah/weight just goes by what your motor demands
