Right now I am planning on selling kits for 39.95 with depron as the foam used..... can you guys give me some feedback on this: Would you think it a good plan to offer the kits with a price of 29.95 but with blue fan fold foam as the standard material and Depron as a $10 upgrade (back to 39.95)?

Let me know what the scoop is....

Wow! That's is a very reasonably price. Will be kit include any CF rods?
Here are some pictures of my version I just test flew a few days ago, just a blown up Shockflyer.

Kits have CF rods, control horns, pushrods, motormounts, all foam (laser cut), digital plans/manual, and a bag small nut/bolts. (29.95)

Upgrades are:
CF landing gear ($15)
PRIINTED full size plans/manual ($6.00)
Molded cowl, pants, covers ($10)

The fun you'll have......Priceless!

(Couldnt Help it...)

I am building a new Turbo Raven right now...

Decided to hand cut the parts off the plans like everyone else for this one.... Parts laid out on FFF (Fan Fold Foam) I use 3M super 77 to lightly hold the paper to the foam

Parts Cut by hand... how frustrating *LOL*

Spar slot getting cut.

Spar glued. I use packing tape on the top and bottom of the spar... It adds some strength and ties everything together.

I covered the parts on this one... Adds a little extra weight, but looks much better...

The motor mout stick and elevator joiner gets epoxied into place. This one is going togetther with a GWS 350D drive unit, and there will be no spar on the fuse (not really needed unless you are really tough on it)

Looks great! Have you ever tried just spaying the foam with Createx rather than tape? It's much easier and much lighter.

I just use premixed Createx in an airbrush. It's very opaque and once dry it's waterproof. For masking I just use a low tack masking tape. It is extremely light when dry. It also cleans up with water and doesn't smell bad when sprayed.

I just wanted to add this Template for all you who are building the Turbo Raven. It is a template for the "Raven" on the side and top of the wings, as well as the text for "ORACLE" on the fuse and tail.

Levi, looks like your coming along on your T Raven. Looks good. Just wanted to let you know that the "Raven" is actually Dk. Metallic Blue. A lot of people think it's black but, it isn't. I've gotten a little farther along on my 1/3 scale T Raven. Full Body pilot from Axels Scale Pilots over in Germany came in today. Looks awesome in the plane. Just a few minor things to do before I run it. First flight will be 1st week in April if all goes well, I'll e-mail you pictures when I get it all put together. Talk to you later.

It's a Mac Minarelli 85cc twin. It's no DA 100 but, the kit was designed around that motor. I've heard a lot of goof things about the Mac. I won't be doing any 3D with this plane so it should be fine.

I love the built up wing!

Are you thinking about offering that as an upgrade?

Yup... Need to get some flight testing done.... It is about 3 oz more in weight, but a ton stronger, and I think it'll make a difference in the way it flies. Mostly in normal aerobatics....

Hey Levi,

Alot of us in Newton County R/C Flyers, Georgia are flying your planes. Excellent construction plans the Turbo Raven is fast and easy to hover. We can't wait untill you get your kits started (I'm tired of building for everyone...hehehe).

Mike,

GREAT SHOT! Have any more??? Post em! I put the picture you posted above on the website in the gallery...

Jimbo4261>>>

The plans are all free to download anytime. My Website is www.3DFoamy.com

Updates on the kits.... I have everything ready to go, but I am still working on a couple mods to the laser cutter. (More power, more speed more accuracy....[>:] Depron is still a few weeks out though. I have a small amount, but the main shipment is not due for a while. I did make some changes to the pricing though... The base kit is now only 29.95 (Was 39.95) and it is Blucore foam. Not quite as pretty as Depron, but saves you $10. The Depron is an upgrade for $10 more.... Carbon gear set is upgrade for $15 more and the cowl/wheelpants set is an upgrade for $10....

I tried to make it easy to get just what you want, and a way to save money too.

Keep up the fun!!!

Everything is counterbalanced with the aerodynamic method.... The ailerons are the exception, because it looks funny, and they each have their own servo.
