OK, I'll grab the digital camera and take some pics.
Levi,
Just how robust is depron? This will be my first all out 3D foamy and I can't wait to start building but I was wondering whether it would not be better to start out on a EPP plane.
What do you think?

OK,
Here is a pic.
Levi,
Playing with a piece of depron. I think I will go for the Extra first. See how I go. I just hope I don't dork it in on the first flight!

Here is one of mine. They are blue-cor and this is just a dry fit for the camera. This is the edge and i also got the Katana. What servos should i use and what glue? I also put a pic of the box after shipping, its kinda bent up.

Thanks levi,
Trent

Lookin' good! Check out the servos at www.balsapr.com The Bluebird BMS-370 is my favorite. It is cheep and has the best speed and torque. Use 5 Min Epoxy for the spar and motor mount. If you can afford orderless CA, it is the best for the rest of the plane. But Elmers works nicely too, just tape it and let it dry overnight. Gorilla glue is strong, but messy.

i like to use Hitec HS-55's or GWS equivalents.

I agree u should use Epoxy for the spar. I use Odorless thin CA and u don't need accelarator for it.

Have fun building, and could u believe theres A 3RD hurricane coming here????? Hurricane Ivan......

Here in alabama all we are catching is wind and rain. I got gorilla glue i just didnt know if it was too heavy. Also, a lot of guys at ouf field design and fly their own foamies(unfortunately im not that creative) and they use hot glue to put them together.

I have finnished my sukhoi that you sent me, and I flew it at an IMAC contest that I was at last weekend. They had a foamy freestyle after we flew IMAC, and I tied for first place with the 3D foamy.

Been busy with school, but will get some awesome video soon!!!
It is pretty amazing what this airplane can do... The rolling harriers are nice and easy, and the blenders are nice!!

Thanks Levi,

Can't wait to get some video from all you "Team 3D Foamy" Guys! I have a 2 hour promo tape in the works and would like to feature 30 minutes of it to you all. It'll be getting sent out to a couple thousand hobby shops! So get some footage, and send the tapes! (Need the tapes for full quality TV editing) but send me your digital files too for the website!

It's getting to be a big "Team" so I'm going to have to change up the program a bit... But I have been working on the web site and the YG page is looking pretty cool! I'm getting ready to post it soon. I'd like to get good photos of everyone and their planes, flying, etc... so e-mail me anything you have. ([email protected])

Talk to you all soon!

Levi,

I need to save up for an AXI but after that I will get it in the air ASAP.
I suppose I could try and dig up the old Hi-8 camcorder to take some tape video. Will also try to get some digital files.
Thanks you so much!!

Hey guys! I have a few questions. The Katana I see looks pretty sweet and I was wondering what the best motor setup is? I disliek Hackers and would liek anything else really! I really liek the AXI Brushless Line! If so for the AXI, which one and what battery for the ideal light weight setup?!??

Thanks,

Dan

PS LEVI do a DVD instead I can help you with the editing it will be a lot easier and we can make it pretty sweet!

I thought u said the hackers were worth it, lol.

According to Levi's website, an AXI 2212/34 spinning a 11x4.7 prop on 3s lipo is awesome for 3D.

Andrew,

Cool pictures! Have you got a video to post yet?

I threw on a 10x8 and like it even better. If you already have some 2 cell packs, then the AXI 2212-26 is the way to go. Super smooth and quiet, and lots of power.

Levi,

Did u notice for your contest that one of the planes isn't even from 3D Foamy? The purple plane is a Hell Raiser. I thought u said the rules are it has to be from 3D Foamy.

Yup, saw that. But it was a little unclear, and the goal is to show off the fun of foamy's so it's pretty much open to anything foam 3D. Besides that he bought a Pitts from me and flew it till death... wanted to try the Hell raiser and it didn't last too long.

He's back to 3D Foamy kits now :O) And thats fine with me!

The Young Guns Team 3D Foamy page is comming along. I'd like to get more pictures of your planes and stuff to show on the website. I also plan on some cool additions to the program and full ride sponserships for the guys that do compititions and shows.

Post or e-mail any pictures that you have around
