Default AXI 2212/26 vs 2212/34

Hey guys,

I am seriously wrestling with which motor to get for my new 16oz Foamy? Most of my friends recommend the 2212/26 as does Hobby Lobby. The word is that it will be more efficient with a smaller prop vs the 2212/34, but I am not experienced enough with the electric stuff to honestly know. Hobby Lobby said the 34 wind would basically require a 13"-14" prop for 3D type flying....again I dunno? Any input would be appreciated.

thanks,
Leardriver

With the 2212/34, you will be able to swing a bigger prop, because it is not as 'hot' as the 26. A 11x4.7 seems to be the right size prop for the 2212/34 for 3D flying, and this would provide more thrust than running a smaller prop on the 26. The 34 wind motor is better for 3D.

My experience with these two motors is they both perform best with the 11x4.7, the 26 will give much better performance on a 16oz model

at the moment i have found the perfect combo with my axi. a 12x6 and a 830 10c mah battery from rclithiumpower.com is perfect!!!!!!! but yes it does draw slightly more than recomended by model motors ( my motor draw 11amps) but i very rarely use full power. i just don't need it. i now have a mix on my transmitter that stops the motor at about 90% power wich lets it draw 10 amps. i am currently using this setup on my 44inch 15oz foamy factory extra and it is just the perfect match. it hovers at exactly 57% power.

all the planes in these videos are 16oz and flown with a 2212/26 and an APC SF 11x4.7, be sure to look at the Las Vegas video of Andrew Jeski having way to much fun!!!!!!!!
