Thanks John, my cousin Chad spent hours cutting out the template out of Depron...the painting we did 2 planes in a few hours, top and bottom.
Honestly it is pretty easy once you have the paint mask cut..and thanks to 3Donlinehobbyshop for the ideas...it is all rattle cans, no airbrushes..

ORIGINAL: bdavison

Here is some more. Although not your typical airbrushing, it is painted. The wings are monokote.
bdavison, nice job. Just wondering what type of paint used on this plane? Did you say you painted the monokote? I am attempting to pu togeather a paint job for an extra and collecting info on paint types, brands, tools, covering, etc... Any info would be appreciated.
Thanks,
Bob

Digger,

The Ultimate was painted using rattle cans of Krylon, then clearcoated in automotive clear coat. The wings are ALL monokote. I hand cut the flames out and the star patterns. It was really tricky ironing down those flames on the wings, without wrinkling them.

This is my first and second attempt at airbrushing.
Number three is built and number four is under construction.

bdavison, thanks for the reply. That sounds like it was tedious. I am looking to air brush (have someone else do the painting) my extra and was just wondering what the best method of doing this is?? Planed on using clear monocote or white as the base although I am not sure what type of paint. Any ideas any body?? I would surely appreciate them.

Thanks,
Bob
