Shock Flyer Landing Gear Use?
I've got a Ikarus YAK 54 I'm just about finished with. I mostly fly off grass, although there is an asphalt parking strip/lot at my flying site as well.
To install the gear or not to install the gear? That's my delima!!! What's the general consensus here?
I do have a variable pitch prop setup as well.
Regards,
Bart

you dont have to use it, if you have a prop saver you could land on the belly as long as you kill it before it hits, or u could hover and catch it, but its up to you really

The gear is really nice to have on the shockys it makes it even more fun. My first shocky did not have a gear but every one scence then has had it. It also stiffens up the fues allot and makes your props last longer. Expecialy with a VPP I would use the gear.

I vote for keeping the gear. I fly mostly over the grass as well. I have not had any trouble with landing the Yak in the grass...just harrier in for the landing. If this is your first Yak...you're gonna love it!
