those seem to be the best idea for landing gear i've seen. Most pics i've seen of foamy landing gear seems over thought at best.
I'm thinking of adding gear to my 55 as well... on my second one after an unfortunate in-house gear check. The motor mount came loose when testing the thrust of the motor as well as the clearance of the motor shaft... needless to say the front end of the plane didn't make it through... almost lost the esc as it was pretzeled into a mess.
