Mine has A LOT of wing rock, granted I am still trimming it out, probably have a bit much of elevator and need to move CG aft but still MORE wing rock than what I would have thought.

It's the Hacker A30-16M outrunner. It peaks at 350 watts. I see I won't be able to run a 12-6 though. Not sure now if it was the right choice. Chief sells them as the motor to go with the 260. I have a Torque 2814/820 outrunner that was on my extreme flight Yak that I could use but I think it's a little heavier. Tell me what you think I should do. It's not too late for changes and I do want it right.

Most people really like being able to run a 13x6.5 and recently had a taste of that which i like very much. You are going to crave the lower KV in the long run if you like 3D

The Hacker is 3.7 ounces and my Torque is 5.0 ounces. What motor do you use and whats the weight? Which outrunner do you think I should use? Does'nt have to be one I have, I will order one if needed.

Hi, the recomended motors are 105 grams and are rated 900 and 905kv PA makes one called the thrust 30, Extreme flight makes the 2818/900 and apache makes one, i forget what it's called. They are all great motors, pretty much the best match for this airframe and everything that closely resembles it.

And Wedgewing; thanks a lot! Welcome aboard. You're addicted to 260's or you aren't right?

I have a couple of other videos at vimeo if you would like to see them here's the link, one of them is being updated right now but it should be ready in a couple of minutes.

definitely addicted to the 260s. I have been an E Flite Fan Boy and had only heard of the PA 260 after you had mentioned it. Most of my time on the PA site was spent looking at the Addiction. I am going to see how the 260 3D 480 rebuild goes, but there is no way I am going to drop the money buying new wings, fuse and tail feathers when I could spend that on a PA 260 set up.

Maybe I will buy the remains of Fly1252's since he is breaking his cherry on that plane or Woodbenders after his sets on fire in air . can't be any worse outcome than mine. should be enough parts to build one model.

The Millennium park PA 260 show looked great. Nice green color on the plane

I will let you know if I go PA soon

That is the motor I have on both the Katana MD and the Extra 260. Great motor!

Got the 260 today. My carbon spinner is on backorder and my motor has'nt come yet. I unpacked the 260 to check it out and found a crack on each side of the canopy. Not worth sending it back so I'll put clear tape on the inside and be done with it. I did go over a few glue joints but not becouse they were loose but just for insurance like most of use do to all arfs, this included the motor box. I cut out all pieces of covering needed and installed the Hitec 65's in the wings. I'll do more tomorrow. I only spent about a half an hour on it tonight. The plane itself looks to be high quality like we've come to expect from PA. All the carbon inside the fuse just looks awsome. I'll post updates as I go. Looks like a winner so far. Thanks PA!!

Question, did everyone else have a hard time removing the backing on the strips used for sealing the hinges? If it's there I can not get it to seperate.

Yeah, i was given a very good trick for that; take some masking tape, 2 pieces, stick one on each side of the film on a corner, not completely joining the two pieces of tape together; pull them appart. TA-DA! you just separated the film from the backing. The one with a fine orange peel like texture to it is the sticky one. (iron on adhesive)

I still could'nt get the clear section off of the covering to seal the hinges with so I just used 3M. Got really tired of messing with it. I'm waiting for my motor still so I've slowly worked on the 260. All servos are installed and the tail section is hinged and installed. I'll do the pull pull next. Here is a couple of pictures.

The other picture above is of a few of my other planes. 2 Flash Foamies. They are EPP and probably the best I have seen, they take one heck of a beating, my Vrolet, Extreme Flight Yak, Fancy Foam Yak, my Mercury I also have another one I'm building thats milled, and my 2 Carden planes. Ones an Extra 330 mid wing mod. and the other is a Yak.

All I really did tonight was the pull pull set up. I hope my motor is here tomorrow and my carbon spinner still is'nt here either. I'm really liking this plane so far. It's easy to put together and really looks great too.

Motor came today, I now have everything but the carbon spinner and wheel pants. What is a good prop choice for the Thrust 30 on this plane? Also I was shorted one of the air scoops that is glued to the sides of the motr box. Should I wait for one to come in if I call them or will one be ok? Please let me know what you guys think becouse thats now holding me up. Thanks to you all.

I have been flying the 12-6 and it has more than enough oomph!

PA strongly suggests using the airscoops and I would say follow their suggestions. HOWEVER mine fell off and I have 90-100 minutes of flying time since and the ESC, Motor, and battery have all been pretty cool upon landing after 10-14 minute flights.
I did mount the ESC on 1/4" stand-off's to allow air circulation over both sides, I believe this to be very helpful in keeping things cool. It is mounted to the side of the "engine box" inline with one of the air inlets to aid in cooling. I also opened up the aft fuse bottom as instructed in the manual to help with air exit.
I will try and remember my infa-red temp gun next time I go fly and get some readings.
