best brushless motor for shockflyer?

I want to get some opinions before I purchase my first electric motor. I found a shockflyer at my local hobby store.

I've been flying mine with the Typhoon Micro6 on a Castle Phoenix 10. I'm very happy with the combination. I haven't tried anything else, so I can't say what's best. My Shockflyer hovers at around half throttle, has good pullout authority all the way to the low voltage cutoff. I'm running a 2s pack of Kokam 340 SHD cells. I get between five and seven minutes of flight depending on throttle usage.

All up weight of the plane is 6.8 ounces.

I'm using the Nippy Black 0508/73 from Hobby Lobby and really like it. Super quiet and plenty of power. Kokam 3S 340 with 11x4.7 APC.

Thanks for the input. How long are your flight times with the nippy black? Where do you get the typhoon micro 6?

I would guess flight time around 9 minutes with the Nippy Black.
Here is a video, it was the first time out with this plane so it's not to exciting.

Hi if asking for the best motor, my answer is Hacker B20 22S 4:1 you get obcene power! very fast throttle response and long flights.

use the kokam 340SHD cell for best result

I dont know much about electrics but I have a question about shock flyers. What are they made of?I just purchased a fundango but I have'nt flown it yet![8D]

Staudacher, would you consider the nippy 0808/98 or is the 0508 still the better choice? There is very little weight difference. Nate the shockflyer is made of foam reinforced with carbon fiber.
Thanks

JLS,
I was told by someone that know much more than I do to get the 0508. He has used both. The 0508 draws less current and have plenty of power. He mentioned that the 0808 can be hard on small Lipos.

Are there any other sites besides Ikarus-USA that sell shock flyers? I watched the video that site from the other reply and now I want one![8D]

Good enough reason for me Staudacher. Looks like I am going with the 0508.

asher,
that's my next project. I am waiting on some 6mm Depron. How big did you make it? Any chance of getting plans from you? I have a Himax 2025 on a GWS D drive that is in a 40" Ultimate right now that should do the trick.
