Default 2002 Toc Pilot's Aircraft

Anyone heard what aircraft the various TOC guys are flying this year? Wondering if Quique is going to fly the 39% Aeroworks 300L this year? I know Warren Thomas is flying the PL Products Extra 330. Anyone know of any others? Is Chip flying the Ultimate? I've heard he has been flying monoplanes lately.

Yet another quality reply full of insight and knowledge from the infamous Mr. Rebel. Do you actually fly RC or are you on this site just to be obnoxious?

I'm on this site just to be obnoxious. I have flown Radio Control before but just on a trainer cord. It seems like fun.

Hey,

Quique has quit flying Aeroworks. He has a couple PLProd Extras and he's getting two Yak 54's that he designed back pretty soon. From the conversation that I had with him a few weeks ago, the Yaks will have about the same demensions as his Extras, but they will be around 39%. He told me that he will be flying those in the TOC and the Extras will be practice planes.

The fuse's are all wood, and the wings and tail surfaces are sheeted foam. Warren Thomas is my cousin and I was over at his shop today and his Extra that he has gotten back from the paint shop is awesome. They all will be very nice when they are done.

Thanks Ryan. A friend of mine that flies with Warren emailed me a copy of Warren's scheme-its beautiful! I'm surprised that Quique has stopped flying the Extras. Good to see someone fly something a little different than everyone else! Isn't the Yak similar to a Sukhoi?

Yes KNIFE BROTHER, the Yak is similar to a Sukhoi. They are both very similar in physical size, and use the same engine. You can think of the Yak as being an all-metal cross between a sukhoi and an Edge. There is a North American distributor for the Yaks.

Their website is http://www.yak54.com/ . Who is your friend who flies with Warren, Gerlad Neel? Hope I cleared up what a Yak was.

I have competed against both Warren and Gerald in past years in IMAC, but I am attending DeVry inst. of Technology and working full time so I doubt I'll get to fly as many contests this year. The friend I was referring to is Jerry Bullaboy. BTW, Thanks for the info on the Yak.

One of my friends tells me that he has received a packet of info from the Sahara detailing the schedule of events, etc.

I wonder why that info isn't posted on the net? Anyone know?

Hey,

My name is Matthew. I'm 15 and I've been flying helis for about 9 months. All I own right now is a Raptor 30. I've never flown a plane(except Eli's 29% edge on a buddy box).

That's about it...

Eli let me fly circuits once on a buddy box when I was trying to learn nose-in with my helicopter.

Thanx Bob. Did fly the other day and it didn't seem to affect my rudder much.

I'll be flying my GP Extra 330L in the TOC. Somehow the invitation got lost in the mail, though...

How many people fly homebuilts? I prefer it that way, instead of having the show dominated by companies. Remember Hanno Pretners era, when they flew scratch builts?
Anyway, I'll have to live with what they fly with...........
Robert.

Frazer Briggs from new zealand does. His 3.2 meter extra 260 was completely built by him and his father, completely composite and built using homemade equiptment in his garage. You guys have overlooked Frazer. Hes got a awesome setup this year that will blow everyone away. his site www.pbgcomposites.com is quite interesting.
