In my quest on the path towards being a little better "hack" when it comes to 3D, I was looking for something different as well. I ran across this electric EPP foam profile, and honestly, I'm having a blast with it? EPP is super durable, and when you do manage to break it, it breaks cleanly - and can be repaired with CA in a heartbeat. Add affordable to that, and you have an exellent 3D trainor?
Available through Nitroplanes and HK, 1100mm Yak, made by Tech One. Keep it light!

Hi
First of it all depends on what size you are looking for and what your budget is ?
If you are looking for a gas plane I would go with either a Pilot RC, Extreme Flight or 3DHobbyShop plane, they all make very good airframes and are reasonably priced If you are looking for pure all out 3D flying I would reccommend a Edge, Slick or Yak54 airframe from one of the manufactures listed above.
On the other hand if you wanted something alot smaller in the electric size, E Flite (horizonhobby) has a nice lineup of planes that are very 3D capable !
Thanks Scott

Here's a time proven winner and favorite with the ProBros: $119 bucks, an OS.55AX, and you'll have a blast. It will do it all and land like a trainer.

A 40 percent Pilot RC Yak is a good 3D plane but might not fit your budget (or vehicle! )
So....what's your size/price range?

Go buy a handful of APC 13x4 props and an OS F glow plug, and you will be very pleased with the way the 55AX hauls that Sabre 47 around.

I had the older OS 50FSR; tried an APC 12.25x3.75 and it had good pull, but slow throttle response (heavy prop). Switched to a Xoar 12x4 and was much happier: same or better pull, much snappier throttle response.
