Default NEW BEAST 60

See it here...I CAN NOT BELIEVE THIS IS NOT BEING OFFERED IN A GLOW VERSION TOO!!! oh well... i guess the market is changed for us ole traditional glow guys... no engine guys.. considering the nice new gas powerplants too I guess it's time to get some batteries *grin* this looks like a winner.

What do you have on the front of the cowl to simulate a radial engine?

Is there any way to put a small gas engine in this airframe?

This plane is designed for electric power only. If you were to install a glow or gas engine i think the vibration would shake it to bits in no time.

You would have to do quite a bit of strengthening and reinforcing which would add a significant amount of weight. Even then you can't get inside the wings etc. which may not be strong enough to cope.

I'm hoping they will release an IC version in this size.

I too thought it looked like it was strictly designed for electric, but I have a friend that was inquiring about it.
It would be nice to have an IC version.

Hello All,

The Beast are trickling in and should be out by the end of the month.

We have found an incompatibility between the production Power 60 470Kv motors with the 80 Amp ESC. Due to this we have changed the recommendation of the ESC for the Power 60 470Kv to the Castle Phoenix Edge 100. Please see the notice attached.

Thanks David

It looks like the recommended prop for this is a 21". I think clearance would be an issue. When the plane is level, there is about 1" clearance.

Why not use a 3 blade prop? Will look better too. Interested in how it turns out if you go that way.

Looks like the prop on the Funtana is 22" so guess its too big. I still dont know what I am going to do with it, maybe stick it on the wall as art.

Electric powered planes cannot replicate the experience of an internal combustion engine. Local lhs has two of these planes in stock. Looked at them Friday night. Was hoping I could mod them for IC power. Too much work. Horizon just lost a sale. It is a sharp plane for sure though.

If it can take a gas engine though, no need to fuel proof, but the frame would need some reinforcing.
