Extreme Flight RC Profile Edge.
Maybe this could be a thread where all questions can be answered, comments posted, set-ups, etc etc..
Got mine finished today. Not enough time to fly it though..
It took about 7 hours to go from the box to RTF.
I did not change anything. All the hardware supplied was used except for the motor mounting bolts as they were too small to fit a Saito .72
I thought all the included hardware was top-notch and minus fuel line, its all there.
All the parts fit really well.
Covering is PERFECT.
The EDGE 540T graphic is included
Wing fits exactly into the fuse with no trouble.
The stab, when slid on, sits perfectly level.
The phenolic motor mount has the right thrust built into it! Motor will sit flat against the mount with the correct ammount of right thrust.
Servos cut outs in the fuse (with the exception of the throttle location) are exactly the right size.
The throttle cut out is for a Micro servo. I dint have one on hand so I opened it up to fit a JR 9011 servo.
All the hinge locations are centered on the pieces and match the mating piece.
Nice tunnel with entry and exit points built into the bottom of the fuse for tail servos extensions. The piece of covering is included to cover it up.
I really did not find anything I didnt like about it.
Absolutely no hassles in putting it together.
I will get a weight on it tomorrow.
NICE JOB CHRIS!!
Lets hear your experiences with this plane or ask whatever questions you may have....

13x6 Master Airscrew Scimitar series.
I have tried a 14x4 wood prop and didnt like it. Some of my buddies swear by them on the .72 though.. Personal preference.
I find I can get a better idle with a heavier nylon or glass filled prop. (Flywheel effect)

Wayne, how did it balance out with the 72? I may use my old OS 45FSR that still runs great but it's 2oz lighter than my OS 46FX. IF it is going to cause me problems I'll pull my OS 50SX and use it.
Thanks,,,basmntdweller

Wayne,
You forgot to mention the wing rib notching and other areas where the wood is notched together. SWEET !!! I got mine out of the box and laid it out to start tomorrow, everything is perfect NOT a single wrinkle in the covering. I checked over Larry's and his is just as perfect. Also, the instruction were in the shipping box. I can't wait to get it together.

I saw a couple of these flying today and I looked over them a bit. Most impressive construction I've ever seen in an ARF, and they felt very light. They flew very good as well.
Impressive.

Hey Wayne,
I didn't get to fly one, just watching. They looked like fun though.
My extra will be here in a few weeks, so I can get ready to go up against you and Jon in May. I'm looking forward to it.

I've been away from here for awhile but what's the story on the 68 and 87'' Yak's. I was looking over his website and either one of these looks like something I need to buy.

The baby Yaks, as far as I know, are being finished up right now...
Hang tight, they are the next ones to get on the boat.

Wayne - fly that baby and give us the report. BTW - Anything more than rolling harrier 5' off the deck is not acceptable to put on video - LOL - like the way you fly your 40%....
I can't wait to start mine. I'm going w/ the YS .63

Another buddy of mine called Chris today and ordered one. He is also putting a YS .63 on his.
You met him at Larry's the day we were all there. Mike Read. (Jerkey on RCU)
He was the guy with the camera and no plane that day.

Hi Wayne
Just want to know if you think a Magnum XL .61 four stroke will be enough for this aircraft? Got one laying around and would like to put it in something. Still flying my doghouse extreme. Thanks for your help.

Andy,
I dont know much about that motor.
Compare its weight to a Saito .72 or a YS .63 and see what you come up with.
If its close one way or the other and you think it will haul a plane that weighs a little less than 4.5 pounds I'd say go for it.
