RE: Frenzy!!. . .New Design pushing the limits
Rudder is PERFECT, Tony. . not too much aerobalancer, tons of authority, and it compliments the overall shark-like profile of the plane.
If anything, the Stabilators are a bit ugly, but a mild re-contour of the shape will fix that. This is totally functional at this time, with considerations for clearances between the flying fin and stabilator as they move through full deflection, and to get the most effectiveness from the surfaces. I already have a laundry-list of design changes I want to make, but the second version will not fly any better I am sure.

If you can't take a little criticism DON"T POST! If those "points" sticking out help the flying of the plane great! Please tell me how?
All I know they don't help the looks of the plane, and they are hard to cover around. Other wise it's a GREAT looking plane GESH!!!!

Ben Flyn, there is a big difference between "criticism", and shouting out that you don't like something, with no real reason given for not liking something.
Aesthetics is a matter of perception.
As for why the ends of the fin are pointed/angled backwards, it has to do with the airflow over the fin as it pivots. The air tends to slide off the top and bottom of the fin as it flows fore-aft, instead of staying on the surface. As well, due to the tapered LE of the fin, you have less effective area in the top and bottom 1/3 of the fin, necessitating angling the TE back as well to keep the effective area large enough to be useable. If the trailing edge of the fin was straight up-down, you would get less effect from the top 2" and bottom 2" of the fin than if the TE was angled back, as it is now. Because of the rearward taper, even though the air is sliding off the top and bottom of the fin, you have more effective area, farther back from the hingeline, which keeps this part of the fin "working" better at low speed/high angle deflection, and you have enough side area to be effective instead of just sitting there looking pretty. This makes the fin more effective, requiring less deflection, and helping keep the plane yaw stabilized during straight-level flight.
A good example of this sort of "reasoning" is to look at fish, especially very maneuverable and fast swimming ones such as Sharks. The way I look at it, if Nature, and Evolution, didn't NEED a fish's tail to be this shape, it would would be a lot different looking. For "area vs. effectiveness", this is the most efficient shape for what I am trying to accomplish. . (Unless you'd rather see a BIG FUGLY square board on the tail. . .)
As for being difficult to cover, I covered that fin in about 8-10 minutes, using Ultracote and a heat gun, no iron. If youconsider this to be difficult to cover, they make ARF's.

Would the kit have a tailwheel? Or space for one? For people who fly off pavement this would be a necessity since pavement tears into the covering. I guess a small skid attached to the rudder would still work.

That looks incredible. Nice work! I can just imagine the effect crow mixing would have on that plane.

RE: Frenzy!!. . .New Design pushing the limits
Does this mean I have to figure out how to set up Crow in my Stylus???
Guess I can swap in one of my JR Receivers and use my 10X or 10SX transmitter, which automatically do that for you.. .
Got the 9152 servos mounted last night . .the speed difference between the 8411's and the 9152 Futaba's is barely apparent, and the torque has been increased about 70 ounces (34% increase) per servo, for less than a 1-ounce penalty per servo. Ynot's Futaba sponsors ought to be happy about that.
Now all I have to do is figure out how to get TWO 40% Extras, and the Frenzy, into my long-bed van at the same time, so I can fly all three on Sunday. Well. . the stabilizers do come off the 40% planes. . . .maybe I'll just hang the Frenzy from the ceiling by the landing gear.

I don't know about kits at this time. There are a few details that need to be worked out before a production version could be released.
I am still flying the plane, now know as Flying Nemo. It flew this past weekend at the XAC in San Antiono.

Hey Kris....This is Michael Carr from Mike Hill hobby place. Went out to eat with you.....
Well, I was at Hobby Stop and they had in the Joe Nall 2004 video in and it was just showing your plane. Incredible...
Just thought you would like to know that...Talk to you later

It also made the Inside R/C Joe Nall edition.
There will be at least one if not 2 newer versions this next year.
Different wing, stronger fuse, better looking fuse.
Currently known as Flyn Nemo.
