RE: YS CLUB
You may be able to contact Troy Newman at Central and ask him where to get the YS mount or a call to Richard at the YS service center might give you some answers as well.

RE: YS CLUB
I have a YS110dz ,bought it used, looks slightly used. Engine runs great full out, can't get it to idle well. Its take a long time from full motor for the engine to reach a safe idle speed then goes dead stick. Started with the regulator even with the top of the barrel, 1 1/2 turns out on the high end needle. 3 turns out from closed on low end. Ran three tanks through it still wont idle well not slow enough to land safely. Messed with settings until frustrated.Lots of smoke good transition from mid to high just cant get the thing to idle. Words or wisdom needed. Using YS 20 20 fuel. Os four stroke plug. Also in the event I'm not doing something wrong, and it is the motor, need to know where to send it for service and set-up, need someone who can adjust the thing.

YS Parts and Service

First thing to check is the valve lash 1 MM or .004, next go over all the bolts on the engine to assure there good and snug, but do not over tighten.
Next make sure the check valve is working and installed the proper way to the vent line of the tank.
Sounds to me like either your reg has some gunk in it or diaphram is just worn out or the low speed idle circut is plugged up. I would lean towards the idle circut being plugged. When you say alot of smoke is that at idle or all the time?
BTW I don't know of a 110 DZ I think they only made the 110FZ and 110 FZ-s the S series has the reg on the pushrod tubes and some other internal upgrades to produce more power.

RE: YS CLUB
thanks for the reply. Is this something you could fix if I sent the engine?, also check internal parts and seals. Could you also test run and make sure I have a good idle. thanks Bill, I would rather start here then take It apart myself

RE: YS CLUB
Crusier, I am just guessing, but it sounds like you may have an air leak in either the air box or somewhere in the crankcase.
one thing to be sure and check is the gasket for the rocker arm cover. make sure it is not deformed and that it fits properly so that when
tightened down no air can leak in around it.

Will a YS 110 run on 15% fuel?
Will a YS 110 run on 15% fuel?
I broke-in my first YS 1.10 on 15% then increased it to 20% then to 30% for max power. I now run my new ones on 30% right out of the box for max power and that hasn't created any problems either.
You bought an expensive YS for it's power and you can't afford to feed it?

RE: YS CLUB
Hi I have decided to switch to four strokes and am going with YS. From what I hear and read the YS 63 will run with a saito 82 I plan on using this in a GP Extra 300 40 size.
The other engine I look at upgrading is on a Matt Chapman 580 46 sized, I am curious is the YS FZ110S too much for a plane that weighs close to 7pds??? I have seen people put a Saito 1.0 on it. Is the 110 much more powerfull than the saito (it is only 5oz heavier). thanks

RE: YS CLUB
The mighty 110 is about 25% more powerful than a Saito 100. It's a powerhouse. I have a 110 on my Fusion which weighs about 7lbs 4ozs or so. It flys it great and is not too much engine. But I'm at 4800' elevation.
The 63 puts out about the same power as a Saito 82. Both are great engines.
Thanks
Barry

RE: YS CLUB
I heard a rumor that YS may have some new lines of engines coming early next year, has anybody heard of this, wondering if they will fill the gap between the 63 and 110.

RE: YS CLUB
14X8-12 15X6-8 & a 16X4 are some prop sizes that seem to work well with the 91 FZ . While it may not have the grunt of its big brother the 110 its still no slouch when it comes to power. MY 91 FZ runs in the 10 K mark and is quit happy doing so on 15% fuel 20 % oil. Using to large of a prop only makes it heat, But I have seen guys use larger props on these engines and get away with it. But to be honest here I think there more like the 63 and feel more at home at higer RPM's
I would say the your engine will fly the 50 X Like a rocket, The 90 Showtime should do well also depending on the total weight. My sons 91FZ is in a 7.5-8 LB 3-d plane and it works great with a 16x4 APC prop, hovers on 1/4 throttle and has instant pullout at half to three quarter's throttle.
Prop selection will solely depend on what type of flying you plan on doing and the weight of the aircraft.

RE: YS CLUB
I need some help with aYS63 . I installed this engine in a very large scratch built Blackburn Mono plane (80'')and had to install it inverted ,the tank is high above the Carb..that is why I went to a pumped engine...could never get the engine set up just right so sent it back to Y.S. for examination etc..the engine came back with a new OS f type plug and starts and runs O.K. however this is the problem, when I pressure the tank to start it fuel just pours out of the carb all over the glow starter etc..the Engine has bags of power etc. the low and high needels seem good but as soon as i land I have to release the tank pressure or clamp a line..I am relutant to play with the regulator as I might screw up the performance that I have ...any suggestions ..

RE: YS CLUB
The reg is to rich more than likely try turning it clockwise about 1/8 of a turn at a time untill the flooding stops. Flush is a good starting point ,some engines will run perfectly that way while others won't. I have seen some as far a 2 turns in from flush and ran perfect with extream power. Always release the fuel pressure in between flights .
Good Luck let us know.

RE: YS CLUB
I am trying to find the crankshaft size for my YS-FZ 110. I know it is an 8 X ?? but I am having quite a bit of trouble for some reason finding a prop nut adaptor that fits. I purchased a 8 X 1.0 mm Tru Turn adaptor that was identified as one that would fit the FZ110 but it does not.
I returned the 8 X 1.0mm nut to Tru-Turn and they tested it and told me that is should fit my FZ-110 however when they returned it to me I tried it again and the threads are simply not correct. The size 8 seems OK but the threads at least on my FZ 110 are definitely not 1.0mm. I have looked through the owners manual, the parts listing and every web site on the web and I can't find a chart that identifies YS engines and their corresponding crankshaft sizes/thread count. Any help on this matter would be greatly appreciated. Thank you..
