Best 3D plane for Saito 100
After doing a bunch of searches for the best 3D plane, it seems like many are 40ish size planes. I have a Saito 100 that needs a home and I want the most 3D capable plane possible. I have heard of too many problems with Funtanas so, that is out. I have looked at the OMP 54" Yak profile, Extreme flight Yak (this might be to big), Aeroworks, Extreme Flight and so on. I want the most capable plane possible with the fewest bad tendencies. I would prefer an ARF. Any suggestions?

Wild, I am looking for the same exact answer. Building a Capiche 50 for my Saito 72 and have a Saito 100 I want to take out of my Stick 60 and put into a 3D or Fun Fly style ARF.

How about a U Can do 3D. I have a Saito 100 GK in mine and it flies great...Do a search on it ..it was one of the biggest threads here on RCU. Use the best servos you can afford and beef up the gear mount..

Regarding the YT Cyclone or Adrenaline, are they too large for my Saito 100 to do all 3D maneuvers? Their site says they can take up to a 1.20. I normally like to go with the top end of what a plane calls for. Will it be enough?

Thanks guys, but I have flown a Funtana 40, and the plane snapped to the right with full elevator (even low rates). I checked balance, reduced throws, etc. Nothing helped. So based on this, the Funtana is not an option.

I am really leaning towards the Extreme Flight 68" YAK since everyone seems to comletely love this plane. I called them and they say it will be fine with this engine. But I want to make sure before ordering one. Does anyone else have this engine in a similar size plane (68" wings span, 8-9lbs) that can provide some feedback? Thanks in advance.

Dean ...
My Cyclone came out incredibly light with a big O.S1.20FSIIIP & O.S 502 tuned pipe system...Digitals all round and heavy duty Du-Bro hardware ....Couple of ounces over 8lbs... heres a pic of em both ... O.K your about .3 BHP down with the Saito BUT you would save at least 12 ounces ...go for it ... The Yack isn't a 3D airplane like the UCD etc.

I did the RCU review of the 68" Yak with a Saito 1.00...
Without question, the best 3D offering on the market today for the Saito 1.00...
The Funtana 90 might be the closest runner up, but it will come in heavier than the Yak... about 1/2-1 lb... based on reports....
I flew the Yak some more Sunday and it simply is a ball to fly with no bad habits whatsoever.
Try a 15x6 prop and 30% heli fuel and you'll be in love...

or the flip, flown mine a little bit now and it shows more potential than the ucd .46- though I was really happy with that one too.
