yes i have done many waterfalls with mine. i have 45 degrees of elevator throw, my cg is at 7.25" it takes a lot of throttle but the waterfalls are good and tight.keeping the wing level is the hardest part. if the wing tips just keep going it is very cool.

Mine does waterfalls. I had the cg at 71/8 and it did them, now I have it at 77/8 (dry) and it does them a little better yet. 45 degrees of elevator deflection, AND I am using flaperon mixing. This really helps get the waterfall started, need power to finish.

I may be wrong, but I don't think that is the G2 program that he is using. I actually sent my color scheme to the G2 swap page, but I don't think they are going to use it because that would be Great Planes advertising for Hanger 9, but it didn't hurt to try. It has been about a 1.5 weeks now and no post on the swap page or reply to me.

Oh well,
DTB

BTW, if you would like the scheme I made, I can e-mail it to you if you like. Must have Add-On 4

I have a Funtana 90 with a new GMS 120 2 stroke and its simply the most fun I ever had flying rc planes. I have only been flying for 2 years and not a 3d guy yet, but I'm getting there. This plane is the most stable and predictable plane I have flown. I'm using and apc 16x6 prop and fibre lite extra tall landing gear which is great. This plane is almost hands off when landing. The GMS 120 pulls this plane vertically out of sight. The fuel mileage is super since I use throttle managment to keep the speed down. What a great sport plane and 3D monster. Remember Speed Kills Funtanas. Its been a great confidence builder for me personally. I would love to see a 50cc gas model or a Funtana Biplane in the future !

I put 4 more flights to mine and love it.

Even tough it does not pull out of hover good with 91fx, it can hover and hovering is not the entire 3D, I used to hover all day with my Fat Free Taco and now enjoy, harrier, elevators, flat spins and snaps.

I love the plane.

Glad to hear some people having a good time wit their F90. I have one that I'm getting started. I'd like to hear some setups from guys that have successfully 3-D this plane.
Things like, CA hinges or upgrade? Servos used? Balance problems? etc.
I'm planning like this, YS120NC up front, Hitech HS 5645 servos, 5ea. Tank on the CG. Sound like it'll work? Any other tips?
I got tired of reading that other thread of people bashing this plane and H-9. This is my 3rd H-9 plane and I've had good luck with the first 2 (60 ultra stick and Twist 3-D)
Thanks for the help!

I've just mounted the Saito 120 to the recessed firewall I made to make the spinner set flush with the cowl. I'm using Hitec 5645 all the way around, Sullivan flying wires on the tail feathers and a CTA tail wheel. I'm going to mount the fuel tank on the CG and use a Perry 30 pump, a 2000 MAH NMH battery and a Futaba PCM 8 channel reciever. I dripped CA thin inside on the wing joiners to help strenthen them. Already sealed all the control surfaces with clear Ultracote and looks like it will be another week before blast off. Any one else using the Saito 120 ???? I will be 3ding this plane so I want input on this engine and plane combo. I have the Saito 180 waiting if I don't see power out of the Saito 120.. Lets hear what your using in your Funtana 90....[8D]

I now have one on the way Im wondering what engine between an OS1.20FS none pumped that i will have to save and order for. Or a OS1.08 2stroke that i already have would be better. Im not a 3d guy but like to try some of the 3d stuff like hovering at 100 feet high. I have a funtana40 and have a blast with it.
Thanks

mikerc,

How much does your Funtana 90 weigh? It appears that you were fortunate enough to get a light one.

8.5 pounds. Nothing special. 5 cell nimh. Hitec 5475hb servos. MPI switch. That is it. Built per plans. I LOVE IT!
