O.K......Its big, but just how big?
Are we talking 80" wing or maybe 100"?
I have the .60 size now and it has a Saito .91. I like it pretty well.

i have a 60 and flown my sons 46 and my thoughts are this plane will be a lumbering slob. ilove my 60 size but after flying the 46 i noticed how more manuverable the 46 is than the 60 ( which flys great but i cant imagine the same plane much bigger, would just seem to fly like a lug with those thick wings. if i was going to a 1.2 id buy a scale. just MHO.and the pink looks like %^)#@.

I'm kinda wondering how a big UCD would fly too. I like both my UCDs but I have more fun with the 40 size. I would love to fly this baby. Looking at the website they say it'll be out in early April. Great Planes has a good history of getting their planes to market pretty fast. Maybe we'll see this baby soon. But, I'm not going to order one until I hear something about it. Right now I'm waiting for a Mayhem 46. I kinda like these smaller, do anything planes. Super cheap to purchase, small engines, BIG fun. I hear a lot of complaints about the color schemes on the UCD but it has grown on me and I like them. It is one of the easiest planes to tell whether it's upside down on not. I asked one of the guys who I fly with, "Was that plane upside down when it hit the deck?" He replied, "Definetly, no doubt about it."
Thanks,
Barry

BARCC, Just so you know, you weren't the first to start a thread on this plane. There was one started over on the ARF Threads two days ago.
Thanks,
Barry

^ Ummmm.....Honestly, I dont think anyone cares who starts the topic, or let alone wants them budding in every other post saying "HEY LOOKEY HERE YOUR IN MY TOPIC THAT I MADE BY TYPING WORDS INTO A LITTLE BOX ON THE COMPUTER SCRENE1!!1!1!11! IM SO 733T!!1!1111!!". That actuially makes me NOT want to read the topic. With that aside this is what I think about it. The new UCD looks ugly and I am happy with my .46 version and thats all i have to say.

Why in the heck does GP insist on making these the ugliest planes ever? I like the UCD's (Have flown a friends) but the covering schemes are gross... The .46 actually looks good.. The 60 is pretty ugly and this one... wow..
If I get one of these puppies it will be recovered asap

Im thinking it will be great for hovering and slow flight but the 40 size will fly circles around the 60 size, so unless they changed the design it doesnt rank high on my scale.

Awful nice of GP to put ZERO ifo on their page about it along with towers ZERO..
so we can assume twice the price and some it will be twice the size. so you 2x $179 and add the extra you will be looking at 85 in wingspan. But i bet is about 78 for real..
I like my 60 and have owned 2 i dont think i want a bigger version. I think im going with goldbergs obsession. for my YS-140

Its funny how the ugliness goes away with time. It does grow on you. True, the .46 is better engineered with the lower hor stab and performs much better. A larger version may very well be a 'spruce goose' in flight. If they increase the chord, but leave the thickness of the wing like the .60 it might stand a chance. We will just have to wait and see. BTW,,,,,,,,,,,,who started this thread??????
Now I remember..............On 4-13-04 this plane and the planned introduction, although premature, was brought to the forums by.......OS MASTER Where have you been OS, its almost a year? Joe

What is up with hating on the U Can Do?
We all sported a thread about 100000000 pages long on it and now its all about how much its hated.
It was the 1st of its kind and a really good flyer. I can pretty much do whatever I want with it. I dont have one anymore, I have moved on to bigger planes and sold/gave my U Can Dos to freinds but they still 3D pretty good. The other day I grabbed the sticks of my friend Chris's and started doing Rolling Harrier Circles about 15' in diameter with it. Granted the KE coupling is hideous on the 60 size but as far as a general fun flyer you cant beat it, and it is capable of flying and landing like a trainer. Absolutely great plane..
And I think they are all cool looking. Its different, but different is good when most people are now flying 1 of 3 planes, including me. Edge, Extra, Yak.
As far as the big version, if they kept it light, and built the horizontal and vert stabs right, and got the built in thrust right its going to be a lot of fun to fly.
Mike!
