Alright I've done some looking and found the cline regulator, only problem is it's $60, which is a little more then I want to spend. So I did some more looking, and came across this site [link]http://saito-engines.info/index.html[/link]. Apparently, the Perry Pump regulator will work fine for relocating the tank on the CG and still providing sufficient fuel flow to the motor, plus it's only $30. From looking at the Saito site, I won't have to tap into the crank case, since there is already the tap there, and you just use a T-fitting. Has anyone had any experience with this pump? Any problems? What do you do with the pressure nipple on the exaust?

As far as I understand, with any of these pumps or regulators you don't use any muffler pressure...only open vent line. I have herd good things about the VP30 set up the way they show on the saito info web page. It is hard for me to believe that it can drive the pump with the air lines open though...but it does.

I am not sure why they don't mention the perry vibrating pumps VP-20 on the saito-engines web sight as they are made for vibrating 4 strokes? Anyways, I am running one on a SA100(FL330) and have not had any problems. I also set it up with a bypass so that extra pressure could bleed back to the tank. I mounted it right on to my motor mount.

Alright I got one more question. I won't be able to get a spinner that will work with my motor until sometime next week, is it alright to just run it with the prop nut on there right now? I know it looks ugly, but I want to go ahead and get this thing broken in and get a couple flights on it. I've ran just the prop nut on some of my .46's before, but didn't know if it was fine to do with a 4 stroke.

Sure you can run it without the spinner.

I have been flying this plane for about 6 weeks now and I have to say I like it substantially better than the 40-size Funtana. If I wreck it tomorrow I would definitely buy another of these instead of the FunanaS. The Edge does not snap or stall at very slow speeds and it will do a high alpha knife edge 6 feet off the runway. Great flying plane for the price. If the battery prices would just come down a little: the electric version of this plane would be killer. Steve

Hey everyone. How would this plane perform with an OS 70 Four stroke? Has anyone tried it? I'd like to be able to 3D with it.

No idea; but my guess would be you will be wanting more power. The Saito91 seems about perfect.

I put a magnum 70 4-stroke (14x4 prop) on mine, but I have not had a chance to fly it. I'll post a comment when I do and let everyone know how she flies.

Saito .91 or OS .61FX I have had both of these engines in mine and they both 3D very well. I stuck with the .91 and swing an APC 15x4W.

I've got the Saito .91 on mine. It's got way more power then I need. It hovers around 1/4 throttle and and has unlimited vertical around 1/2. I rarely go past half throttle.

Flying at sea level definitely has its advantages. At our field in Reno I would say the Saito91 is the smallest I would be happy with.

Never even thought of that. Good point. I'm at around 360 ft. above see level while you're around 4500.

Well, I got to fly her today with the 70 4 stroke. Flies great, but just not enough to hover with it. I agree and 82 or 91 would be much better. One thing is for certain, this plane flies extremely well, even in the wind.

Hey guys I got my edge and its pretty much ready to fly at this point. One problem though. I have a Saito 82 and got a dubro 2 1/4 inch spinner. It doesnt fit on the shaft. What brand of spinner will fit on this? Im considering an aluminum one but plastic is cheaper.

You need to precision ream out the spinner back plate to fit that prop shaft. Also it should be aluminum in case of back fire, plastic will turn into a hundred pieces.

Really? I've been running plastic spinners on my OS engines for a while and never had one explode.

Here's some pics of my Edge with a Saito .72 in it. It has enough to hover using a 13x6 prop but there is very little room for error as there is only a small amount of vertical climbout.

Next to my buddies Comp Arf.

Collectively,
Mines sitting all put together ready to go at home (minus a spinner) and I'm up here at college. I put an 82 in mine. How do you think it will hover? I would imagine it would have better pullout than the 72. What kind of spinner are you using? Also did you brace your tail at all?

You've never had one back fire.

You can fly it without the spinner if the CG is ok.

But it looks sooooo good with the spinner, I've got a Tru-Turn Spinner on there (can't remember exactly which one). I did indeed reinforce the horizontal stab with a couple of spare carbon rods I had left over from my Funtana 40 I think the 82 will have better pullout than the 72 for sure, of course a 91 would be better

They might be big but they make believers out of people that have used them.
