Default Aerobatic Kit 25% and under

Looking for an aerobatic airplane in kit version only. I know of the aeroworks 25% edge only, it's a little pricy, but am really thinking of getting it.

does anyone know of any good kits that are around, and still at a good cost, but needs to be light weight.

looking to but a gas engine into the model, with the amound of glow fuel i go through in a year, i will have the engine paid for in no time.

Try the midwest extra.
It is a good flying plane.

thanks,

I have heard from some people that the midwest kits are build very strong, but also very heavy, one of the heaver kits around. Is this true, and if you have one what did your weight come out to be.

thanks,
GB

Default 1/4 Scale Ohio R/C Available

I have an Ohio R/C 1/4 Scale Extra 300 kit I'm not going to build. I'd like $250 for it or would trade for a NIB Saito .91 GK.

Default Midwest

There's a lot of info here on RCU regarding how to lighten up the Midwest. People have kept it strong and got it down to 11.5 - 12 lbs.

Default AEROWORKS

I JUST RECEIVED THE 25% AEROWORKS KIT. IT LOOKS AWESOME AND I CAN'T WAIT TO GET STARTED. $300 IS EXPENSIVE, ESPECIALLY WHEN YOU SEE THE AMOUNT OF MATERIAL. A COUPLE OF FOAM CORES AND 1 BUDLE OF BALSA AND 1 BAG OF FORMERS. MOST EXPENSIVE ITEM IN THE KIT IS THE FIBERGLASS COWL AND PANTS. HOWEVER, KEEP IN MIND YOU COULD BUY AN ARF FOR $300. NOT FOR ME!!!! I DON'T BELEIVE A FACTORY IN CHINA IS GOING TO TAKE THE TIME TO BE AS PRECISE AS I AM.
(I AM VERY PICKY). ON THE OUTSIDE THEY LOOK IMPRESSIVE, ON THE INSIDE, NO ONE KNOWS? TOUGH DECISION, I KNOW, I JUST LIVED IT. GOOD LUCK.

The CA 27% extra is on sale now for $199 at planesplus. That is a great buy. It comes with 2 piece wing on a wingtube instead of the giant surfboard.

I guess it depends on what you call heavy. It can be built lighter, but you will not find a more durable kit on the market.

My Midwest extra was 14lb 6 oz with a moki 2.10. I did nothing to lighten it.
