TOC Finals first round results!
I had the pleasure of seeing Chip flying a 30 sized Concept helicopter back in LA 10 years ago. He was the pattern champ back then already. It was then I realized that helicpoter flying really hones one's airplane flying skill. Hey, does Chip enter any helicopter competitions?

TOC Finals first round results!
Boys, I'm driving up tomorrow. Can't wait. I hear the best day to go is Sat (due to freestyle). However, I was watching the golf channel (golf tourney in Vegas this weekend also) and the forecast is for 15-25mph winds. Yuck

It's called normalization. The basic explanation is the one that scores the best that round gets a perfect score and then everyone else gets a percentage against the round winner.

Answer to Seanychens question about Chip Hyde flying Helicopters. Chip won the 2001 Class III helicopter event in Muncie. He didn't enter this year. Chip is an excellent helicopter flyer also.

Who cares what country there from?
Whats with the patriotic deal? I'm sure that the Americans at the TOC aren't waving their flags and singing the Star Spangled Banner. There isn't one government that supports any of the flyers. Let the best man not a country win the event. Chip,Jason,Sean,Paysant-Leroux,Matt, Somenzini and the rest of this talent laden group are all part of the brotherhood of RC Aerobatic flyers that has no borders. I assure you that they are flying for thenselves,as they should be.

TOC Finals first round results!
Wow - these posts amuse me - I mean - who cares? Why is there so much emphasis on these guys - it's only model airplanes for crying out loud. It's not like they are rock stars or anything - bet they have to beat all the millions of chicks into model airplanes off with a stick
AND - while I'm at it - WHY do guys put sponser stickers on planes when they are not sponsered? What is up with that?
Please help me understand these things.

TOC pilots ARE sponsored!
Every TOC pilot IS sponsored one way or another and whoever sponsors them gets to have their sticker on the pilots plane. I put stickers on my plane(or kept the ones it had when I bought it) cause they made it look better.
I didn't get into this hobby to attract chicks and neither everybody else that I know for that matter.
And these guys might not be 'rock stars' in your mind but they are the best pilots in this hobby gathered from around the world to compete against each other and this, in my mind at least, makes this TOC gathering as big an event as the Olympics.
I hope I helped you understand just a bit....
